Zini Foundation

“Zini” is a new non-governmental organization in Latvia. Organization aim is to promote the development of innovation and education by providing equal opportunities to all society through involvement in all projects and activities of Zini Foundation. All activities that do Zini Foundation are aimed for society in order to society become more active, knowledgeable and inclusive. The main activities of the foundation are:

    1. Provision of training and consolations in various fields such as culture and tourism, environmental accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities, healthy lifestyle and healthy food, sports, technologies.
    2. Involvement in social activities, working groups, decision-making processes.
    3. Research.
    4. Project writing and getting involved in projects with aim to improve the life of society.

Leonardo da Vinci Private School

Leonardo da Vinci is a private school with early foreign language training and a broad science program. It started in 2004 as a Children’s Academy. Leonardo da Vinci Private School has developed a concept for the educational process from preschool to XII grade.

We pay serious attention to the individual approach to learning, so there are up to 10 students in each class. Our school has extensive experience in the application of interdisciplinary activities, such as fairy tales, games, drama, dance, sports, creative, environmental and artistic activities in the learning process. Recent years have also included the STEM-related way of educational process with an emphasis on the arts and reading / writing / craft activities. The school educates children in their first steps in entrepreneurship from eight years until today, as it has well-trained teachers and trainers from the University of Ruse. In the practical courses and seminars there are many parents of children who are specialists in their current field of professional skills, who participate together with the students. Special attention is paid to social entrepreneurship and its benefits for society on a large scale.

Association of Educational Services Open Europe

The Association of Educational Services “OpenEurope” is a non-for -profit organisation with the main office in Reus (Catalonia, Spain) that aims to help young people and adults who work in youth related sectors participate in European programs.All projects and initiatives of our organisation aim to involve educators, teachers, professors, students and the whole community in carrying on projects and programs that seek a life-long learning process. Our programs are designed to develop the participants’ communication, leadership and occupational skills.

We pay special attention to increasing non-governmental organisations’ capacities as well as those of the volunteers working to solve social problems. We help to involve all the members of the community in our projects and activities, especially those related to civil responsibility, immigration, technology at service of people or smart cities.

Teresa Miquel i Pàmies School

Our school is a Pre-primary and Primary School. There are 453 students, 150 pre-primary students (from 3 to 5 years old) and 303 primary students (from 6 to 12 years old). 37,97% of them are from other countries: Marrocco, Africa, SouthAmerica, Asia and different Europen countries. 8% of our students have special needs or disability like: learning difficulties, autistics, hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder and reduced mobility.

Our main objectives are: to improve the academic results, achieve good social cohesion and promote and value the effort culture. It¡s also an important value the cooperation and the collaborative work. We want our students achieve good academic results. We use different metologies because of our students diversity. Another of our concerns is to provide the right care of our pupils with special educational needs.

Our projects are: artistic and musical project (different workshops with students of different ages to fostering inclusion and cooperative work), English project (english activities in other subjects and we participate in different contests), a science project (sudents do experiments and presentations, teamwork and cooperation, a garden, practical mathematics, reading sponsors, different activities in corners with pre-primary students: art, science, music…). We also share different activities with other centers from our city.

The 13th Primary School of Trikala

The 13th Primary School of Trikala is located in Rizario, a suburb of Trikala 2km away from the city centre. It was established in 1882.Until 1995 it operated in an area in the centre of the settlement. However, due to the increase in population and the growing needs a new and modern building was constructed. Since 1996 this place houses our school.The old building operates as a community centre.

The school premises are modern,including six classrooms,an auditorium-gym, a computer lab, interactive boards in each classroom,a spacious schoolyard and a sports ground. Inside the building there is a library where students and other people have access to a variety of resources.It contains books since 1917.Some of them are very rare. It also has records with the pedagogical and other instructions and the way the school has operated since 1956 ,as for the previous years they have been destroyed.Anyone who can look back to these records will find the policies of the state,the pedagogical and teaching approaches and the way a school works the last 50 years of the 20th century and the first of the 21st in Greece. The number of students in our school is small.Today, about 70 students attend our school. In the previous years there were more students.

The number of teachers ranges from 10 to 15.The subjects that are taught except for the typical ones like Greek, Maths, History,Religious Education,Science,Geography etcetera are enriched with English,French or German, ICT, Theatrical Education, Art and Physical Education.In the last decade, our school has spread its wings and flies far away from Greece by participating in many European Erasmus+ Programmes, KA1 and KA2. The experiences for teachers and students are exceptional. Many students who attended our school in the past and are now university students take part in Erasmus exchange students Programmes in their universities. The future prospects of the school thanks to our teacher’s inspiration is a European direction in combination with the national identity of the school. Our school is taking part in the school network of UNESCO ASPnet since 2016.

This network consists of thousands of school in our planet. It is involved in many actions. In one of them we were honoured to win the first world prize in painting where the theme was “ we open our hearts and our minds to the refugees”.Our students’ work was chosen among thousands of others in the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris. In Greece, our students’ painting has been featured on a postage stamp.

Istituto dei Sordi di Torino

Founded in 1814, the Turin Institute for the Deaf works from its foundation with deaf people, deaf people with multiplier disability and blind people from kindergarten to adult age. It is really involved in the training of educators facing the education of pupils with sensorial disabilities. The Turin Institution for the Deaf is an institution providing a wide range of services and activities, for deaf, hard of hearing and other linguistic and cognitive impaired children and adults, such as:

  • Adult education for deaf and hard of hearing;
  • Vocational training and vocational guidance for young deaf , blind, autistic and other disabled adult students;
  • Speech therapy and SLI programs and early intervention programs;
  • Recognized National Provider of training for teachers;
  • Home housing for deaf adults at risk of multiple discriminations;
  • Kindergarten for Deaf and hearing children;
  • Special need teachers and educators service in mainstream schools supporting students in collaboration with the local social services and school authorities;
  • Specialized library and documentation center for teachers and parents;
  • Special projects for the inclusion of deaf people in the society in the view of universal accessibility, with a focus on museum and cultural institutions;
  • Projects with the Universities in the fields of researches, language rehabilitation and social services; European and international projects;
  • Specialized mentoring and tutoring for students with disabilities enrolled in the 3 public universities of the region;
  • Language classes: Italian, English, sign languages;
  • Sensorial Garden;
  • European Solidarity Corps;
  • Counseling to public employment services.

The institution is located in the north-west of Italy and operates at a regional and national level about services and at international level for special projects. The Institution has 160 workers.

SOU Gimnazija Koco Racin

SOU Gimnazija Koco Racin is a general secondary school that offers general education to students at the age between 14 and 18. There are more than 500 students. Since this school is a gymnasium/lycee, the subjects that are taught in the first two years of education are general and compulsory, and in the last two years they choose one of the educational areas depending on their preferences and future education. Namely, there is mathematical area, humanities and social disciplines or languages. The national curriculum for gymnasium education offers students elective subjects which would improve their knowledge in well known areas as well as preparing them for their further education. There are more than 50 highly qualified teachers in different subjects who strive to educate and motivate students to acquire quality knowledge and expаnd their skills and competences. Most of them are motivated to participate in national and international projects and are willing to expand their areas of expertise.

As a school we have also participated in several Erasmus 201 and 229 projects on various topics. Participation in European projects strengthen the profile of the teaching profession, dealing with complex classroom realities and adoption of new methods and tools. Projects are promoting an interdisciplinary approach based on real problems and innovative approaches, so students become more creative, motivated and learn how to include and use science, mathematics and technology in real-life situations and be prepared for the challenges of the fast moving world. Also participation in the projects promotes raising awareness of the cultural heritage and values of the EU, its structure , the vision and strategies of the EU in the future.
